The host hotel for this event was quite nearly booked the last I checked.  You may consider adjacent lodging or other alternatives if you are traveling as the price is difficult to swallow..

Buzzee's Take:
Given the 8 AM start and the climbing, some riders will arrive at the last on-course control after hours. Not many Amish stores are open after dark on Saturdays so ride fast, tarry not at controls, and carry water/calories on the bike. Confirm that the bike meets lighting (and common sense) requirements. The bike path used is paved and despite signs to the contrary is often used by buggies. Most secondary roads have no usable shoulder. Many Amish are now riding e-bikes giving them 100 to 150 watts of hill-climbing boost. Our riders should not be dissuaded if they are unable to keep up on climbs. Finally, the Amish do not - do not - like to have their pictures taken. Take pictures of their animals, houses, barns, but not people.

First Brevet in the bank - no doubt I’ll be back for more. Thanks to all involved, a very enjoyable day.

beautiful course. Awful weather! Back loading the hills was a little tough, but in general the topography was reasonable. All warnings about Amish impact on the roads was valid: manure, sketchy pavement, and slow moving vehicles. These kept me on my toes and on the brakes for the descents. The one unwelcome aspect of the ride was the ground down pavement on 643, it was a little unnerving late in the game. But what can you do?

Sorry about the multiple links. Stopped the garmin to wait for Lynn and it decided to save the ride.

Sleet hurts on fast descents!

Well, that was a bit epic. Wind, sleet, cold, and quite a bit of climbing. Highlights included getting to see an amish baseball game in progress.

Thanks, Alex and David, for all the work!

Beautiful route through some of Ohio's prettiest countryside. Weather made this one a challenge.

Roads were worse condition than I would expect from Ohio. I thought I was still in Michigan at times.
