Buzzee's Take:
Given the 8 AM start and the climbing, some riders will arrive at the last on-course control after hours. Not many Amish stores are open after dark on Saturdays so ride fast, tarry not at controls, and carry water/calories on the bike. Confirm that the bike meets lighting (and common sense) requirements. The bike path used is paved and despite signs to the contrary is often used by buggies. Most secondary roads have no usable shoulder. Many Amish are now riding e-bikes giving them 100 to 150 watts of hill-climbing boost. Our riders should not be dissuaded if they are unable to keep up on climbs. Finally, the Amish do not - do not - like to have their pictures taken. Take pictures of their animals, houses, barns, but not people.
